Bezuban/ Bezubaan Meaning

Bezubaan, also written as Bezuban or Be-zubaan (Devnagari:बेज़ुबान, Urdu:بزبان) is an Urdu word which means someone who cannot speak.

Zubaan is Urdu for tongue, or language, and be- or bay- is a prefix which means without. Hence, someone who cannot speak, due to physical reasons, a mute person, can be called Bezubaan. In poetry, someone who cannot speak something due to other reasons than physical can also be called bezubaan.
